We hope this letter finds you and your family doing well and enjoying the last bits of summer vacation. A welcome back email was sent last week, but since then a few changes have been made. This letter will provide some details and updates with the understanding that things are still changing on a regular basis.
● The adjusted first day of student attendance is Monday, August 24th.
● School begins at 8:35 am and dismissal will begin at 12:25 pm.
● The contact hours for remote instruction are 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Remote learning teachers will communicate when live teaching sessions will occur while still providing the option to view a recording of the live teaching when it is convenient for your family.

Kindergarten Supply Drop Off
If you have a child entering Kindergarten at Aux Sable, you should have received an email earlier this week with information regarding something new we are trying this year; hosting a Kindergarten Supply Drop Off event. Supply drop off is ONLY FOR KINDERGARTEN students. Since this is their first time being at our school and Kindergarten teachers will be organizing student supplies in a different manner than other grades. Parents of kindergarten students will receive an email with the name of your child’s teacher to coordinate supply drop off times. Virtual Open House
This year, Open House will be held virtually for all students. We understand that the excitement level may not be the same as if we were able to come together, however our focus will remain on keeping students and families safe. Teachers have been working endless hours to create presentations and videos to introduce themselves and share a little bit about what to expect this school year. An email will be sent by your child’s homeroom teacher on August 19th giving you access to the presentation. Teacher assignments will be made available in PowerSchool after 3pm on August 18th. We are thrilled that this year all of our K-4 students will be receiving a device from the school to use for both in person and remote learning. This is commonly referred to as 1:1 meaning each child has their own district issued device. Students who will be starting the year at school will receive their device within the first week or two of school. Students who will start the year learning remotely will be given their devices during the remote learners material pick up days.
Remote Learners Material Pick Up Days
Students who have elected to learn remotely are asked to come pick up their device and curriculum materials on either August 20th or August 21st between the hours of 9am-2pm. On those days we ask that parents please stay in their cars and use the front drive where a staff member will take your child’s name and get you the materials needed for the first quarter. If your child is starting the year at school, materials and devices will be passed out within the first week of school.
You can access supply lists by grade level by clicking on the link below. Please do not send PE shoes as students will be participating in PE remotely. To accommodate the inability to drop off supplies prior to the start of the year, your child’s teacher will give parents information on what school supplies to bring to school each day during the first week. This way book bags are not overflowing on the first day of school.
